Temple of Apollo Epikourios at Vasses

Vasses lies south of Andritsena and west of Megalopolis (Arcadia, Peloponnese). This temple was dedicated to Apollo Epikourios ("Apollo the helper") and sits at an elevation of 1,130 metres above sea level on the slopes of Kotylion Mountain. It was designed by Iktinos, architect of the Parthenon. The temple was the first Greek site to be inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List (in 1986).
