Temple Mount, Jerusalem

Jerusalem - the Temple Mount: the Western Wall and the Dome of the Rock as viewed from the west. The Dome is in the shape of a Byzantine martyrium, a structure intended for the housing and veneration of saintly relics, and is an excellent example of middle Byzantine art.
Το Τείχος των Δακρύων και ο Θόλος του Βράχου στην Ιερουσαλήμ, από τα δυτικά και από τα ανατολικά (από το Όρος των Ελαιών). Το Τέμενος αποτελεί εξαιρετικό δείγμα μεσοβυζαντινής αρχιτεκτονικής. 


The Dome of the Rock as viewed from the east (Mount of Olives). The  domes in the background and to the left of the Dome, belong to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
Το Τέμενος από τα ανατολικά (από το Όρος των Ελαιών). Στο βάθος και λίγο αριστερά διακρίνονται οι τρούλοι του Ναού της Αναστάσεως.
